During halftime of the Ohio State/Nebraska game, “The Best Damn Band in the Land” earned it’s title. The played an incredible set that included music from Tetris, Super Mario Bros that included a dig a Michigan, Halo, and The Legend of Zelda. For me, the highlight was the Mario section where they had sound effects over the PA system made the sound of Mario hitting bricks and generating mushrooms, and had flags unfurl above the bricks. The band then formed an invincibility star and Mario’s face.
