Video: Daimion Stafford Curses Out Bo Pelini

We have seen Bo Pelini chew out his fair share of player during his time at Nebraska but I can’t remember any situation where a player gave it back to him. Daimon Stafford had enough of getting yelled at and decided to fight back dropping at least 3 “f-bombs” on Coach Bo.

Stafford made up for it by getting a big interception early in the quarter but I can’t imagine there are that many worse ideas than cursing out your coach, especially if your coach is Bo Pelini.

he should be suspended from playing in a few games or be completely kicked off the team. such a lack of respect, and the entire country saw it. it sets a horrible tone for the game, the team, the state, etc.. completely inappropriate

The coach is an@$$hole who gets in players faces all the time, particularly minority players. Why would any kid go to Nebraska-it is not a great destination as far as cities go and Pelini is a jerk. Bring back Frank Zolich!

You’re the idiot to judge the personality of a coach by what you see on the sidelines. The players love Bo.

well then dont play for nebraska if you think he is a jerk, but you go in knowing he is the coach and you have to respect him because he is the coach. end of story . no one is making him play for the the team. he should be kicked off the team without question. if your boss yells at you, you can yell back, but most likely you will be fired, that is just the way it goes

also the comment, gets in the face of minority players, wa wa what a joke. he yells at everyone . last season he was yelling at martinez. deal or go some place else, he is COACH pelini not babysitter pelini. if you cant take it, leave the team. everyone everywhere is replaceable. yes im sure he says, right before he is yelling oh wait im angry let me look for a minority to yell at. what a joke, stupid stupid comment

In case you are not aware- Martinez is a minority. My point was that Pelini has never won a major bowl, he has not a coaching legend that has earned getting away with the verbal abuse he submits players to. If it is all fair then then Tom Osbourne should have went onto the field after the debacle of a bowl game last year and screamed at Pelini for not having his team prepared. Pelini is not the kind of coach that most fathers want coaching their sons. Do you see Saban, Chip Kelly, Brian Kelly, or Stoops acting like Pelini? Pelini is Bobby Knight but without the National titles. Kids do not want or need to put up with these type of people anymore. To the point about “if your boss yelled at you”- I feel sorry for anyone that has top put up with anyone who would act like that. I am fortunate that I work in an industry that that behavior is not tolerated, if it happened I would quit and find a better job. I served 20 years in the U.S Army and I can tell you that behavior is not acceptable anymore. I like the Cornhuskers and have great respect for their fans and the way they treat other fans but Pelini is not a good representative of your University. I think in the long run Pelini will cause Nebraska to lose out on kids who see that behavior on TV and decide to go elsewhere.

You get what you give. Bo’s lack of discipline can be seen at all levels of his organization. Stafford’s behavior is Bo’s fault. Players will emulate their leaders.

I will agree with you on that subject matter, “You get what you give”. And thats why Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne are two of the best coaches in Nebraska history. They didn’t treat their players like little kids. They treated them with respect as young men, and their players loved and respected them and always gave 110%. When you belittle a player whether minority or not, you change the mental drive of that player. Prime example, the coach yelled at Martinez that time. Nebraska could have won that game very easy, but once that happen, the demeanor of the players went down the drain, and Nebraska lost. Respect begats respect!
