Each “Throwback Thursday”, we’ll feature a classic incredible play from college football with a classic jam to go along with it.
This week, we’ll salute the hosts of the weekend’s best game, the South Carolina Gamecocks. They’re hosting #6 Georgia this weekend and are 5.5 point underdogs. This classic is only 2 years old, but goes down as one of the best hits and game-changing plays in history. It may not have been the most glorious of bowl games, the Outback Bowl, but Clowney certainly made this play like it was his biggest game ever. At the time of this play, with 8:20 left in the 4th quarter, South Carolina was down 21-22 to the Wolverines. Clowney made the sack, forced the fumble, and recovered all in one slick move. The Gamecocks would go on to win the game 33-28 and put an exclamation point on the end of their 11-2 season. They would finish #8 in the polls and Clowney would be drafted #1 to the Houston Texans after the following season.
and now, a classic jam from the fall/winter of 2012….
