Turns out the Urban Meyer news broke about an hour after we finished recording, which is actually good because this week’s episode of The Spread Offense is all chiller, no filler. Before we can do that though, we had to make our New Year’s Six picks.
Suddenly, a housekeeping thing. We’re adding something new to how we pick games this season. Since we absolutely butcher the explanation in the pod, I’ll post some details here:
The Spread Offense Charity Challenge (aka The SOCC)is a challenge in which Sam and I will each pick between two to five games from our standard 25-game preview slate. We then bet at least one dollar (in dollar increments)on each of those games, with a $50 budget that we must meet each week. At the end of the year, whoever has earned (or more likely lost less money) picks a charity, and both players must donate their winnings (or losings? their amount of money is what i’m trying to say). Anyways, this should surely clear any confusion up!
Finally, we end on a few things that make us excited for football season. Sam once again goes after LSU fans, I go after Iowa fans, and much shit talking occurs.
