Yesterday the news came out that Tamba Hali had been suspended for the first game of the season due to violating the NFL’s drug policy. Now since the suspension, which will come against Atlanta, is only for one game, its safe to assume that its not because of a performance enhancing drug (PED). It’s being theorized that the violation stems from marijuana use, but thats not been confirmed nor denied by the Chiefs or Hali. What makes this kind of shocking is that Tamba Hali is such a humble, hard working guy who rarely gives interview’s to the media, preferring to let his play speak for him. He led the AFC in sacks in 2010 and has 26 1/2 over the last two years, and was recognized by the NFL’s Top 100 at #34 this year. The Chiefs defense will miss him for sure, but I’ll bet Matt Ryan isn’t shedding too many tears for him.
