With so many amazing traditions and experiences out there, we hope that you can take some of these recipes and traditions to your tailgate and make it TAILGREAT.

Be Great. TailGREAT.

Be Great. TailGREAT.

The Game: #14 Notre Dame at #17 Michigan

Due to money and conference realignment, this will be the second-to-last time that Michigan and Notre Dame are scheduled to play each other. Enjoy the TAILGREATING while you can.

The Food

Beer Dip

I’m serious when I say that those might be the best two words ever put together. This recipe is totally unhealthy, which is how you know it’s delicious and TAILGREAT worthy. Beer dip is a winner. Well done, Big Blue.

Recipe:

·3 8 oz. packages of softened cream cheese
·1 package of dry ranch dressing mix (like Hidden Valley)
·½ – ¾ can of beer (not the time to skimp on calories here, a lighter beer will lose you flavor!)
·2 cups of shredded cheese
·Bacon bits and green onions

Directions:

1) Mix cream cheese, dressing mix and beer until combined well and creamy.
2) Mix in 1 cup of cheese.
3) Refrigerate at least three hours before serving or overnight for best results.
4) Spoon into serving dish and sprinkle remaining cup of cheese, bacon bits and green onions on top. Polish off with bags of pretzels.

The Drink

BIG Blue

At first glance, the Big Blue looks harmless. Trust me, it isn’t. This drink is packed with liquor and is sure to jumpstart your trash talking game as kick-off rolls around. Honestly, there were a lot of choices for this segment, from local beers to shots, but Big Blue took the crown.

Recipe:

4 oz Gin
2 oz Blue Curacao
4 oz Sweet n Sour

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into an old fashioned or collins glass. Garnish with a lemon.

The Tradition

Tailgating on Golf Courses

Why? Because if you can’t drink and golf on a golf course, then you should be able to drink all day and play tailgate golf on a golf course. The University of Michigan Golf Course is famous for it’s amazing array of tailgating options. The best part: some ‘club pro’ won’t be pressuring you to quickly take your next shot, your friends will.

Here’s @MaizenBrew take on tailgating at Michigan. You’ll want to read it, trust me.
