Since the fall of WCW we waited patiently for WWE & Sting to form some sort of bond…we were finally granted that wish when Sting appeared at Survivor Series 2014. Sting would go on to wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania 31 & Seth Rollins at Night of Champions in 2015.
Now Sting is ready to take the next step in his legendary career as he becomes the first inductee of the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame class and honor that was created for careers like his.
“We are truly honored to have Sting take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame,” said WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “His contributions to our industry are unprecedented, and we look forward to celebrating his incredible career with fans all over the world.”
Sting has competed all over the world during his 30 plus year career from his early days as one half of Power Team USA with The Ultimate Warrior to wrestling the last match ever on WCW Monday Nitro, he has been a notch above the rest.
WWE announced the news on their website, but tonight the official announcement will be made during Monday Night Raw. While it’s still early I’d put my money on Ric Flair being the man to induct Sting.
