The Spread Offense | Wednesday, November 30th

On this week’s especially quick episode of The Spread Offense, we fly through the only two things worth mentioning from last weekend: the Iron Bowl (much to Sam’s dismay) and Pitt slaying yet another giant.

We bleed into the quick slants by talking about the rankings, including our weekly “why does the committee hate UCF” segment. We also talk potential scenarios for the playoff and what needs to happen to make a tidy top-four turn very messy very quickly. TCU could cause quite a bit of ruckus with a win this weekend!

For this week’s Run/Pass Option, Sam lists a number of coaches that are either confirmed to be hired by a school or are allegedly the school’s top target, and we decide whether or not it’s a positive step up for those coaches or not. I don’t totally understand the rules until about the third choice in, but it doesn’t change much. ALSO Herm Edwards reportedly took the ASU job as we were recording this, so we mention that very little.

Finally, we look ahead to the relatively short championship week. We mostly agree, other than Sam making a very emotional SEC Championship pick, and discovering the most bizarre Vegas thing either of us have ever seen.

The Reverse – 0:34
Quick Slants – 9:28-ish kind of (we sort of bleed into it)
Run/Pass option – 21:15
The Hurry Up – 30:10

Enjoy, and thanks for listening!
