[Quick Hits] The ’92 Dream Team in NBA 2k13?

Where’s Pip?

If the above photo is to believed you’ll be able to play as the original (only?) Dream Team in NBA 2k13.

Darren Rovell tweeted this as more or less official earlier today but when I checked NBA 2k13’s official website I didn’t see any news posted there.

Also, where’s Scottie Pippen? Did Charles Barkley and 2K Sports finally reach an agreement? Are the Redeem and 2012 teams available for play so we can settle countless debates on the virtual hardwood? Does Christian Laettner have a 56 rating? So many questions!

As of shipping on NBA 2K12, I know that EA had the rights to USA Basketball even though they haven’t put out a console game for two years. It’s too bad because 2K does old school better than anyone else. The other reason I think this is not a 2K thing is that Pippen is not in it. Scottie was a featured legend in 2K12 so why wouldn’t he be a part of the next incarnation?

Unlike Charles Barkley, I am wrong. This IS happening! @2KSports promoted a tweet yesterday announcing it!

“#NBA2K13 will feature the iconic ’92 Dream Team! Play as the greatest. Spread the word, tweet #NBA2K13”

AWESOME. I saw some YouTube videos floating around that were fan made but this is great. I’m sure you could probably create Scottie or download a roster including Pip. Either way I’m definitely continuing my annual purchase of this game.
