Michael Phelps is adding on to his record medal count. Today he won the 200 IM becoming the first man to ever win an individual event three Olympics in a row. Lochte took the silver and finished the games with 5 medals which is very good but will probably get largely overlooked due to Phelps’ history run. Phelps he said many times that this will be his last Olympics and with this was Ryan Lochte’s last event of the London Games so this was the last time we will see this great rivalry in the pool. I don’t think the showdowns between Phelps and Lochte quite lived up to the hype but we got some great theater from these two over the years. When asked about the record Phelps said: “Cool to add to my resume.” I’d say at this point his resume is pretty stuffed.
