The USA Today Preseason coaches poll is out and LSU is #1. Alabama is #2, with USC at #3 for now. The poll was taken before Silas Redd transferred to Southern Cal. Nebraska starts out at #16.
There are four Big Ten schools ranked with the highest ranked team being Michigan at #8 even though most people are just assuming (wrongly in my opinion) that Wisconsin will roll to the Big Ten title. It is interesting that Alabama got more first place votes than LSU yet still barely starts at #2. I am really skeptical about LSU this year due to the QB situation but remember this is just a preseason poll.
“We are fortunate to be at a place that allows you to compete for that (No. 1) spot,” LSU coach Les Miles told USA TODAY Sports in a statement. “We recognize that it (No. 1 ranking) is more of a reflection of a body of work and understand that right now, it’s a spot that we hold and not one that has been earned. It’s a position that we enjoy. Now we have to go out and play in order to keep it.”
I am so happy we will have college football in less than a month. Lets see if the “Mad Hatter” can take his team wire to wire #1.
