Pharrell’s Only Weakness

Pharrell’s Only Weakness

I think it’s safe to say that at this exact moment, Pharrell Williams is at the peak of his powers. Yes, Skateboard P was responsible for some classics (ex: 1, 2, 3), but in terms of worldwide and crossover success, he’s at his zenith right now. “Get Lucky”, “Happy”, and “Blurred Lines” are like the Holy Trinity of Pop Music.

I consider the man the coolest guy on the planet and I would do pretty much anything to be him. He’s obviously one of the most talented artists and producers that ever did it as well. Which is why it pains me to point out that he’s just not that great of a lyricist. His soothing falsettos have covered up the following gems…

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof

Tape You

I just want to tape you

All night

Let It Loose

Now tell em

It’s in the house, so throw your money in the air and stand in the couch

Laugh at the money that’s stuck in the chandelier

Tell them girls right there that the man right here

Bobby James

I got pushed at home at school I was a wuss

Now my life is a domino that pushers push

The Way She Dances

I am in your aquarium

Are you a mermaid or something?

Is it possible to marry one?

Big tits, fat ass and turquoise skin

Slick Rick and Rakim he is not, but even though his lyrics are lacking at times, we’re all still going to be bumping Pharrell’s tunes until the day we die. STAAAARRRTRAAACK!
