Tom Brady is told about his fantasy team’s losing record.
I, for one, am thankful that my team had a bye week. It seems this is the only way to stop the bleeding. Not everyone was so lucky, this week. In fact, some faced embarrassing catastrophes and face weeks of rebuilding ahead.
As always, the league is open, so feel free to take a look at the scoreboard and teams right here. Let’s see what happened this week:
Cromartie Kidz vs. MEXtra Points (121-91)
Will you look at that? Kidz actually got a win this week. Much of this was because of Tom Brady’s 31-point Bills-demolishing performance in the second half Sunday. But almost every position on this team had some strength. T-Rich, Gronk and V-Jax being the standouts. MEXtra literally has two good fantasy players. That 91 looks inflated due to a good week for the Bengals D. More losses are to be expected.
Lincoln Cowfish vs. Dirty Birds (119-102)
This was actually really close. Cowfish has somehow remained unbeaten despite Cam Newton and Victor Cruz’s inconsistency (they was great this week). Michael Turner and Stevan Ridley went to work this week, too. But this victory was based on the strength of TE Scott Chandler, who had two TDs this week. Oh, and only had two points last week. And suffered a head injury. So good luck maintaining that pointage. Birds on the other hand . . . well, Colston put up the most points and that should say something, considering he averaged 4.33 in the previous three weeks. I also just have to point this out: Birds has the single worst bench in this league. The future of the team rests on what Mendenhall can do coming off injury.
Rollin’ Up Blounts vs. Virginia Beach Cornhawks (107-108)
GAME OF THE WEEK
Ouch. This is the best way to win and the worst way to lose. It must especially hurt for Blounts, knowing that if they played Owen Daniels over Dennis Pitta, they would have won. Strong teams across the board, but Cornhawks stole this victory on the strength of Matt Ryan who has consistently been a fantasy powerhouse this season. I’d expect Blounts to bounce back next week though, as Julio Jones had a down week.
Blue Bengals vs. Team Pymps (81-61)
PILLOWFIGHT OF THE WEEK
New week, same story. I hate to say it, but this was a matchup of arguably the two worst teams in the league this year. Pymps just doesn’t have any luck. It’s a team filled with 2012 fantasy busts. Three Cowboys players, Jermichael Finley, S-Jax and D-Moore. It’s going to take a miracle or the Cowboys becoming good for this team to get a win. Bengals shouldn’t be so pleased. Plenty of busts here. CJ2K finally had a decent week. But Burleson is living in Drop City right now. Ben Tate is useless in fantasy when the Texans play terrible run D . . . they just don’t have to switch it up and take Foster out. And Felix Jones was a starter for Bengals this week. Uhh . . . what?
Monstah Lobstah vs. Show me your TDs (66-98)
A month ago, if you drafted Matt Stafford and Run DMC to the same fantasy team, you’d think, “YES! I could win this year!” You’d have been wrong. These may be the two most frustrating players for fantasy teams this year and Lobstah got both. TDs is a monster in this league. He lost a starting WR and still got nearly 100 points, thanks in large part to the scary Houston defense. Easily a playoff team.
Steeler Virginity vs. Team leftcoastbias (108-41)
BIGGEST BLOWOUT
Looking at that score, it’s difficult to remember that leftcoastbias was undefeated going into this week. 41 points. 41. That is . . . just utterly ridiculous. This is a team with Ray Rice, Doug Martin and Ryan Mathews. But it also has the Jets D. Revis was that defense . . . their fantasy points are limited going forward. Virginity is still putting up solid numbers. The 49ers are the best fantasy defense in the league. Andy Dalton got it done and Roddy White had the week of his career. Playoff contender.
