According to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, after weeks of rigorous workouts a CT scan revealed an issue in the healing process for the Philadelphia 76ers big man. The initial plan was for Embiid to play with the team in summer league come July but those plans may be on hold.
The former third overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft missed all of last season with a stress fracture in his foot and with this setback, maybe Philadelphia opts to go for another big man with the same pick in this year’s draft? According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, a league source said the Sixers have a “firm top three” on their board of Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell and Jahlil Okafor, in no particular order.
Perhaps Okafor and Nerlens Noel will team up in the front-court next season in Philly?
