Monday night’s “season premiere” (otherwise known as their first head to head matchup against Monday Night Football) of Raw started things off pretty hot, with Triple H and Stephanie making their way out to a pretty solid reaction.
Before we get into Raw I’d like to take this moment to jump a top my soapbox and present something that is on my mind. If we are going to have a Season Premiere why not give the crew like three weeks off to recharge. Air some best of packages, interviews, and maybe even some past stuff from NXT. It would give fans a break from the product and when the season premiere actually rolls around people will treat it as such.

Now that I’ve got that out there let’s talk about how Triple H was out there getting down like your drunk uncle at your cousin’s second wedding.
WWE Tag Team Title Match: The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day: Hit
From the moment they got Steph to show off her mom dance moves to the finish the New Day were owning this match. Aside from the Titus O’Neil hot tag I’m not sure anyone was truly paying attention to what Prime Time Players were doing because New Day were just doing anything and everything they possible could to entertain us.
New Day vs The Dudleys will be a fun tag team feud to watch and The Prime Time Players were most likely find themselves doing Superstars /Main Event duty for the foreseeable future. That is unless the Uso’s come back soon and we might actually see two tag team feuds at once.

Charlotte & Ric Flair Backstage Segment: Hit
Ric Flair was in full Flair form and WWE once again reminded us that Charlotte is Ric’s daughter with a bunch of Flair puns and Wooos!!!
Paige vs. Sasha Banks: Hit
Wait they didn’t cut to commercial right off the bat…well this might actually hold my attention. Paige and Sasha Banks always work their asses off in the ring and tonight was no different. Paige got worked over pretty good throughout the match with Team Bad helping Sasha and Becky just watching along like the rest of us.
Sasha getting yet another win over Paige, this time clean, followed by a Team Bad beat down raises a few questions. Clearly we are going to see Paige turn on Team PCB eventually because they just seem to let her get her ass beat all the time, but was there more to this post match beat down then just another part of this ongoing storyline.
Miz TV: Botch
We could have saved this for Smackdown…or just not at all. We didn’t need a Miz TV for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to announce they’ve found their partner. It might have been the biggest waste of time tonight and also the laziest booking of the night. But kudos that this came lull came so deep into Raw.
John Cena vs. Sheamus: Botch
The lull continues onward with yet another blah matchup. We’ve since this before and to be honest we’ve seen it way too much. The best part of the United States Championship Open was that we were getting so many fresh matches with Cena. That was a huge part to why Raw was actually enjoyable. When those stopped I noticed the middle chunk of Raw started to really drag. I’m not saying Cena needs to get the title back and go back to that, but we could really use something along those lines on TV every week.
Ryback/Kevin Owens Segment: Hit
Ryback is starting to trick me back into enjoying him, either that or I’m just easily blinded by my love for everything Kevin Owens does that this feud seems like it’s going to be entertaining to me. Owens has been the most consistently entertaining wrestler this year next to Cesaro…which made sense that I wish their feud would reignite after Owens takes the title off of Ryback.
Neville vs. Stardust: Hit
I know this wasn’t a match, my guess is that it got its time cut, but its setting up for what might be my favorite no one cares feud. These guys alongside The Lucha Dragons & The Ascensions is an early front-runner for being the only traditional Survivor Series match this year.
WWE Divas Title Match: Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella: Botch
I’m not sure if I can say this so I’ll write it as best I can…F*@K This Finish! I’m tired of all these silly finishes, honestly just come up with something new already. Twin magic hasn’t made sense since Nikki’s tits and ass grew tenfold compared to her sister’s. It ran it’s course years ago and is now just a slap in the face to anyone who is looking for a legitimate match.
No shit Charlotte wasn’t going to go over and win the title, but at least do something a little more original? Different? Well since those are two things that can’t happen in WWE why not just not use something a little more interesting.
Cesaro vs. Rusev: Hit
While I’m not a fan of using Cesaro as a filler talent this turned out to be a little different…also it wasn’t Mark Henry vs Rusev. Of course we knew that Dolph Ziggler was going to come down and get involved somehow because that’s the name of the game these days. Rusev and Cesaro did a solid job in the ring and Summer Rae is slowly creeping up my list every time I see her in a pant suit.
Sting vs. Big Show errr Sting & John Cena vs Seth Rollins & Big Show: Botch
The point of the main event match/segment on the go home show is to sell you on the upcoming pay-per view or event whatever they are calling them these days…well I can honestly say that this made me want to watch come Sunday, only issue is it made me want to watch football on NBC Sunday not Night of Champions. Seth Rollins and the over 40 club was a great reminder that I hate three-hour Raws. Seth Rollins is starting to enter the prime of his career and this is what he is working with. Sting is great in those nostalgia match-ups like his WrestleMania bout with Triple H but I really could care less about him vs Rollins.
I will say I’m all for Rollins and Cena for the U.S title, but the main event my get defeated by Mr. Sandman before a caw even hits my ears. Maybe one day I’ll be truly happy, but tonight isn’t one of those times.
