It looks like Lakers fans may have to wait until the regular season to get a look at their new big man, Dwight Howard. One of the things Lakers fans seemed to ignore in their excitement about trading for Dwight Howard this offseason was that he is not healed from his back problems of last year. Now he will miss the start of camp and the preseason
“We’ll see what the doctor says,” Howard said. “If I’m ready for opening night, I’ll be there, but I’m not going to rush it. A back is very serious so I’m going to take my time and make sure I come back 100% because I want to give everyone 100%. I want to give everyone everything I have.”
The Lakers are still confident that Howard will be ready to go for opening night. I would say to remain cautiously optimistic for that to happen. It’s a long season and this team was put together to win a championship so the Lakers should be patient with Dwight’s back.
