Just now on the Dan Patrick Radio show, Drew Brees was on and of course he was asked about his contract and there is no real news to report there. However, Drew was also asked by Dan why the Saints coaches were not fighting the suspensions they received from Roger Goodell.
“I have pretty good knowledge and I’ve been informed that a lot of those coaches feel like there are further sanctions that are being held over their head if they don’t cooperate, quote on quote with the investigation, even though punishments have been levied against the coaches it’s already been determined that there are further sanctions possible if they do not cooperate and I believe if they were to speak out on behalf of the players that maybe that’s the fear that they have and that’s being held over their heads.”
That’s pretty powerful stuff. Another example of the unlimited power NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has. Too bad the players didn’t just have the chance to collectively bargain recently. Oh wait..
