Desperate times call for desperate measures, and this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium will be no exception. Apparently the fans in Kansas City are fed up with the way the team is being run, and have come together to do something about it. A group of fans started a petition on a message board at the Chiefs Planet website to raise money to fly a banner before kickoff from 10-11am. What is the banner going to say? ”We Deserve Better! Fire Pioli – Bench Cassel”.
Pretty strong words to say the least. But what is it going to accomplish? No doubt team owner Clark Hunt and GM Scott Pioli know the fan base is restless and just a tad pissed off. Its doubtful that Hunt would fire Pioli before the season is over although if he’s not at least thinking of possible replacements, he should probably consider selling the team to someone who actually cares about the Chiefs success. Firing Pioli is probably a good idea, as he has shown himself to be a man too stubborn to admit that he’s wrong when he’s obviously wrong, and worries more about his image than the teams quarterback situation. There happens to be a man out there by the name of Bill Polian who would be an excellent GM…
As to benching Cassel, well, you know my thoughts on that. I do hope somebody catches a video or picture of that banner though. And I really hope Pioli is man enough to answer questions about it afterward.
