What do Boyz II Men and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers have in common? A bet. One that Rodgers lost this past Sunday.

TMZ is reporting that the quarterback, who happens to be a huge fan of the R&B group, asked them to perform the national anthem at the Packers’ season opener. In exchange for agreeing to do this, one member of the band, Nathan Morris, offered up a wager. If the Packers won, as a San Francisco 49er fan, he would go around wearing a Packers jersey. However, if they lost, Rodgers would have to don a 49ers jersey for the whole week, everywhere. Yes, even Green Bay’s training facility.
Now, Rodgers is originally from Northern California and was all but set to play for his childhood idols, the San Francisco 49ers, after attending Cal. However, the 2005 NFL Draft didn’t go quite as expected and the 49ers ended up taking Alex Smith instead with the first overall pick.
While Aaron Rodgers is the only one in this equation with a Super Bowl ring, this past Sunday, the 49ers stunned the Pack at their beloved Lambeau Field and it was Alex Smith who ended up looking more the example of stellar quarterback play.
Is there a discount double check for stupid bets made? I don’t think Rodgers will be living this one down any time soon.
